Kazimierza Wielka ( ) is a town in southern Poland, in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. It lies approximately 45 kilometres northeast of Kraków. It is the administrative seat of Kazimierza County. With a population of 5,848 (2005), it is the smallest county seat in Poland. Kazimierza Wielka is located in Lesser Poland Upland and historically belongs to the province of Lesser Poland. For most of its history, it was a village, and did not receive its town charter until 1959.
One of the main highlights of Kazimierza Wielka is its rich history. The town dates back to the 13th century and was an important center of trade and commerce in medieval times. You can still see remnants of its past in the form of historic buildings and monuments, such as the Gothic St. Catherine's Church and the Renaissance-style town hall.
But Kazimierza Wielka is not just a town frozen in time. It also boasts a vibrant cultural scene, with regular events and festivals throughout the year. For example, the Kazimierz Cultural Summer Festival features concerts, theater performances, and art exhibitions, while the Kazimierz Wine Festival celebrates the region's winemaking traditions.
