Troon is a seaside town and sea port in South Ayrshire, situated on the west coast of Ayrshire in Scotland, about eight miles north of Ayr and three miles northwest of Glasgow Prestwick Airport. Troon has a port with ferry and freight services, and a yacht marina. Up until January 2016, P&O operated a seasonal ferry service to Larne. In May 2006, a ferry service to Campbeltown was added, although this was withdrawn the following year. Since March 2024, Caledonian MacBrayne have operated a ferry service to Brodick on the Isle of Arran.

As you arrive in Troon, you'll be taken aback by its stunning coastline, dotted with sandy beaches and rugged cliffs. The town is famous for its championship golf courses, including the Royal Troon Golf Club, which has hosted the Open Championship multiple times.

If you're a lover of seafood, Troon won't disappoint you. The town is home to a variety of seafood restaurants, where you can indulge in fresh catches straight from the Scottish waters. The harbour area is particularly popular for its fish and chips shops, where you can sample some of the best fish and chips in the country.
