Nova Friburgo, commonly referred to as just Friburgo, is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro located 136 kilometres from the state capital. It covers an area of 935.429 km², and its population was estimated at 203 417 in 2025, making it the 16th most populous in the state.
