Pousada Monte Serrat

Bonitos are a tribe of medium-sized, ray-finned, predatory fish in the family Scombridae, which it shares with the mackerel, tuna, and Spanish mackerel tribes, and also the butterfly kingfish. Also called the tribe Sardini, it consists of eight species across four genera; three of those four genera are monotypic, having a single species each. Bonitos closely resemble the skipjack tuna, which is often called a bonito, especially in Japanese contexts.

One of the main attractions in Bonito is its numerous natural swimming pools, known as "balneários". These pools are fed by the region's underground rivers and offer a refreshing escape from the heat. You can also explore the rivers themselves by snorkeling or scuba diving, where you'll encounter a wide variety of fish and other aquatic life.

For those seeking adventure, Bonito also offers activities such as hiking, zip-lining, and rappelling. The region's caves are another popular attraction, with guided tours available to explore the underground formations and learn about the local geology.
