Reno is a city in the northwest section of the U.S. state of Nevada, along the Nevada–California border. It is the county seat and most populous city of Washoe County. Sitting in the High Eastern Sierra foothills, in the Truckee River valley, on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada, it is about 23 miles (37 km) northeast of Lake Tahoe. Reno is the 78th most populous city in the United States, the third most populous city in Nevada, and the most populous in Nevada outside the Las Vegas Valley. It is known as "The Biggest Little City in the World" and had a population of 264,165 at the 2020 census.

When you think of Reno, you might automatically think of the city's famous casinos and nightlife. While it's true that Reno has a vibrant gaming scene, there's so much more to discover in this city. For starters, Reno is home to some of the most stunning natural landscapes in the country. Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine lake in North America, is just a short drive away. Here, you can enjoy crystal-clear waters, scenic hiking trails, and breathtaking mountain views.

If you're more of a city person, Reno won't disappoint. Downtown Reno is a bustling hub of activity, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options. You can explore the city's art galleries, catch a show at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, or try your luck at one of the many casinos.
