Situated within the malaria-free Shamwari Private Game Reserve, just 9 km from Paterson lies the Shamwari Explorer Camp. Located on a plateau amongst basalt and granite rock formations, the walking safari camp offers scenic views over the vast landscape.

At Explorer Camp each canvas tent comes equipped with a small, outdoor seating area. Amenities featured include bedding, an LED light for night use and insect repellent. There is a shared outdoor shower and an outdoor hand wash basin.

A continental breakfast is served daily, and lunch and dinner is included. Guests can also enjoy tea, coffee and water.

Guests can enjoy walking safaris through Shamwari Private Game Reserve, hosted and guided by qualified walking guides. Distances walked vary each day but can last up to 4 hours.
