Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

St Albans is a cathedral city in Hertfordshire, England, east of Hemel Hempstead and west of Hatfield, 20 miles (32 km) north-west of London, 8 miles (13 km) south-west of Welwyn Garden City and 11 miles (18 km) south-east of Luton. St Albans was the first major town on the old Roman road of Watling Street for travellers heading north and became the city of Verulamium. It has a population of 82,146.

As you wander the streets of Saint Albans, you'll be transported back in time to the Roman era, when the town was known as Verulamium. You can explore the remains of the Roman city, including the impressive city walls and the Verulamium Museum, which houses a wealth of artifacts from the Roman era.

But Saint Albans is not just a town for history buffs. The town also boasts a thriving arts and culture scene, with numerous galleries, theaters, and music venues to explore. Make sure to check out the Abbey Theatre, which hosts a variety of productions throughout the year, or take in a concert at the Alban Arena.
