Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Skelmorlie is a village in North Ayrshire in the southwest of Scotland. Although it is the northernmost settlement in the council area of North Ayrshire it is contiguous with Wemyss Bay, which is in Inverclyde, and has a PA zone postcode unlike the rest of Ayrshire which is in the KA zone. The dividing line is the Kelly Burn, which flows into the Firth of Clyde just south of the Rothesay ferry terminal and Wemyss Bay train station. Despite their proximity, the two villages have historically been divided, Skelmorlie in Ayrshire and Wemyss Bay in Renfrewshire.

As you explore Skelmorlie, you'll be enchanted by the village's picturesque scenery, quaint cottages, and friendly residents. The village is steeped in history, with a number of historic landmarks and buildings that date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. One of the most impressive sights in Skelmorlie is the Skelmorlie Aisle, which is a beautifully preserved medieval chapel that was built in the 15th century.

If you're a lover of the great outdoors, Skelmorlie won't disappoint. The village is surrounded by stunning countryside and offers a range of outdoor activities for you to enjoy. Take a leisurely stroll along the Skelmorlie Castle Trail, a scenic walk that takes you through lush forests and past stunning waterfalls. Or, if you're feeling more adventurous, you can hike up to the summit of the nearby hill, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding area.
