Villahermosa er hovedstad i den meksikanske delstaten Tabasco. Stedet ble grunnlagt den 24. juni 1564 under navnet «Villa Carmona», skiftet navn til «Villa Hermosa de San Juan Bautista» i 1598. I 1826 fikk byen navnet San Juan Bautista. Byens navn ble endret til Villahermosa i 1915. I 2005 var innbyggertallet omtrent 550 000. Byen var primært en jordbrukskommune helt frem til 1990-tallet, da oljefunn førte til stor industriell og kommersiell utvikling.
