Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Beavers are large semiaquatic rodents of the Northern Hemisphere. There are two extant species: the North American beaver and the Eurasian beaver. Beavers are the second-largest living rodents, after capybaras, weighing up to 50 kg (110 lb). They have stout bodies with large heads, long chisel-like incisors, brown or gray fur, hand-like front feet, webbed back feet, and tails that are flat and scaly. The two species differ in skull and tail shape and fur color. Beavers can be found in a number of freshwater habitats, such as rivers, streams, lakes and ponds. They are herbivorous, consuming tree bark, aquatic plants, grasses and sedges.

One of the highlights of Beaver is its proximity to the Tushar Mountains, which offer breathtaking views and a variety of outdoor activities. Hiking trails in the mountains range from easy to challenging, and there are many opportunities for camping, fishing, and picnicking. You can also take a scenic drive through the mountains, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

Another must-see attraction in Beaver is the historic Main Street, which is lined with beautiful old buildings and quaint shops. It is a great place to take a stroll and soak up the small-town atmosphere. The town also has a number of museums that showcase the history and culture of the area, including the Beaver City/County Museum and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum.
