About the property

With a beautiful cliff top location, The Clifton boasts views over Sandown Bay from its conservatory lounge and garden. Leading onto Keats's Green, it has a bistro that uses local produce in its menu.

Many bedrooms have views of the Isle of Wight’s coast, and some have a balcony. Each room features free Wi-Fi, a TV, radio, a private bathroom and free tea, coffee and hot chocolate facilities.

The dining room provides home-cooked food using seasonal ingredients from the nearby farmland. Special dietary requirements can be catered for. The bar stocks beers brewed on the Isle.

The garden opens onto the Coastal Walk between Shanklin and Sandown. The picturesque Shanklin Old Village is 5 minutes’ walk away, and Shanklin Chine and the beach are also just a few minutes’ walk.

Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Shanklin is a seaside resort town and civil parish on the Isle of Wight, England, located on Sandown Bay. Shanklin is the southernmost of three settlements which occupy the bay, and is close to Lake and Sandown. The sandy beach, its Old Village and a wooded ravine, Shanklin Chine, are its main attractions. The esplanade along the beach is occupied by hotels and restaurants for the most part, and is one of the most tourist-oriented parts of the town. The other is the Old Village, at the top of Shanklin Chine. Together with Lake and Sandown to the north, Shanklin forms a built up area of around 25,000 inhabitants, Shanklin alone contributing around 9,123 of this.
