A milium, also called a milk spot or an oil seed, is a clog of the eccrine sweat gland. It is a keratin-filled cyst that may appear just under the epidermis or on the roof of the mouth. Milia are commonly associated with newborn babies, but may appear on people of any age. They are usually found around the nose and eyes, and sometimes on the genitalia, often mistaken by those affected as warts or other sexually transmitted diseases. Milia can also be confused with stubborn whiteheads.
Milia is a small village located in the western part of Crete island, surrounded by lush greenery and the beautiful White Mountains. It is a place where nature meets history, and where traditional Greek culture is still very much alive. The village is known for its authentic architecture, with houses made of stone and wood that blend perfectly into the natural landscape.
One of the main attractions of Milia is its eco-friendly tourism model. The village has been carefully restored and transformed into an eco-lodge, where visitors can experience a sustainable way of living. The lodges are powered by solar energy, and the food is sourced from local organic farms. You can also participate in activities such as hiking, bird watching, and learning about traditional farming practices.
