Portree is a harbour town and civil parish in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. It is the main town and largest in the Isle of Skye, and lies within the Highland council area, around 74 miles (119 km) from its administrative centre of Inverness. It had a population of 2,281 in 2022. Around 939 people can speak Scottish Gaelic.

As you enter Portree, you’ll be greeted by colorful houses lining the harbor, creating a postcard-perfect view. The town center offers quaint shops, restaurants, and cafes where you can sample traditional Scottish cuisine and shop for souvenirs. One of the main attractions in Portree is the stunning landscape that surrounds the town. Take a hike up to The Storr, a rocky hill that offers panoramic views of the sea and the hills of the Isle of Skye. Or, visit the Fairy Pools, a series of crystal-clear pools and waterfalls that are said to be home to magical creatures. You can also explore the nearby Dunvegan Castle, the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland, or take a boat tour to see the seals and other wildlife that inhabit the area.
