Discover Chale Island

Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Chale Island is a headland rather than an island, located at the northern end of Msambweni Bay in Kwale County in southeastern Kenya. Originally, "Chale" was the name of a Digo warrior. Chale was buried on this island after dying. Chale Island is known as a sacred kaya by the locals.

As WE explore this paradise, YOU will be greeted by turquoise waters, soft white sand and lush greenery that will take your breath away. This secluded island is perfect for those seeking a peaceful retreat, with only a handful of resorts and a small local community residing on it.

The island boasts a vibrant marine life, making it perfect for snorkelling and scuba diving enthusiasts. You can also take a glass-bottom boat tour to see the colourful coral reefs and tropical fish without getting wet.
