Photos, information and travel guides for your stay.

Phetchaburi or Phet Buri is a town in southern Thailand, capital of Phetchaburi Province. In Thai, Phetchaburi means "city of diamonds". It is approximately 160 km south of Bangkok, at the northern end of the Thai peninsula. As of 2005, the town had a population of 26,181 and covers the two tambon Tha Rap and Khlong Krachaeng.

One of the highlights of Phetchaburi is its stunning temples. The most famous of these is Wat Mahathat Worawihan, a 12th-century temple that is home to a towering golden Buddha statue and intricate murals. Another must-see temple is Wat Yai Suwannaram, which boasts a striking white and gold exterior and houses beautiful paintings depicting the life of Buddha.

In addition to its temples, Phetchaburi is also known for its delicious food. Make sure to try the local specialty, kanom mor gaeng, a sweet and savory curry made with rice flour and coconut milk. You can also sample the fresh seafood caught daily in the nearby Gulf of Thailand.
