WE recently had the opportunity to visit Bandarawela, and we were blown away by its natural beauty and cultural richness. With an elevation of 4,000 feet above sea level, the town offers breathtaking views of tea plantations, waterfalls, and mountain ranges.

Apart from the stunning scenery, Bandarawela boasts a rich history and cultural heritage. The town was once a hub for British tea planters, and its colonial architecture is still visible in many buildings. The Dowa Rock Temple, a Buddhist temple dating back to the 1st century BC, is another must-visit attraction that showcases the region's ancient history.
