Nailsworth is a town and civil parish in the Stroud District in Gloucestershire, England, lying in one of the Stroud Valleys in the Cotswolds, on the A46 road, four miles south of Stroud and about 25 miles northeast of Bristol and Bath. The parish had a population of 5,688 at the 2021 census.
Nestled between Stroud and Tetbury, Nailsworth offers a quintessential English countryside experience, with its lush green hills, picturesque stone cottages, and winding streets lined with independent shops, cafes, and restaurants. This town is perfect for a weekend getaway, a day trip, or a base to explore the Cotswolds.
One of the town's main attractions is its rich textile heritage, which dates back to the 18th century. Nailsworth was once a thriving centre for the wool trade and cloth production, and you can still see evidence of this in the many mills and factories scattered throughout the town. You can visit the Dunkirk Mill, which is now a museum showcasing the town's industrial past and the creativity of its craftsmen.
