Set in a stunning Regency mansion overlooking Esthwaite Water, YHA Hawkshead stands within beautiful grounds just a mile from Hawkshead village. It offers a restaurant, a games room, and a shop for guests.

The Beatrix Potter Gallery is located in nearby Hawkshead, and Lake Windermere is only a 10-minute drive from YHA Hawkshead. The lush greenery of Grizedale Forest is just outside the hostel, home to excellent mountain biking trails and a Go Ape! treetop adventure course.

Guests can relax in the TV lounge and common room, or enjoy a game of pool in the games room. There is also a library in the hostel, and the beautiful grounds provide plenty of space for relaxation.

Hawkshead is a village and civil parish in Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria, England. It lies within the Lake District National Park and is historically part of Lancashire. The parish includes the hamlets of Hawkshead Hill, 1.2 miles (1.9 km) to the north west, and Outgate, a similar distance north. Hawkshead contains one primary school and four public houses.

One of the main draws of Hawkshead is its quaint cobblestone streets and traditional architecture. As you wander through the village, you'll be transported back in time to a bygone era. The village is home to a number of beautiful churches, including the impressive St. Michael and All Angels Church, which dates back to the 12th century.
