Altmünster, also known as Altmünster am Traunsee, is a market town located about 3 kilometres south of Gmunden in the Austrian state of Upper Austria, on the west shore of the Traunsee. Its economic base consists primarily of tourism, light industry, and as a bedroom community for people working in larger communities such as Gmunden and Vöcklabruck.

As you wander through the quaint streets of Altmünster, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time. The town is rich in history, with landmarks such as the 15th-century church of St. Nikolaus and the 17th-century Schloss Ort castle. Take a stroll through the town center, where you'll find traditional Austrian architecture and plenty of shops and cafes to explore.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Altmünster is paradise. The lake offers a variety of water activities, including swimming, boating, and fishing. You can also hike or bike the many trails that wind through the nearby mountains, taking in breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding countryside.
