The family-run Panorama Hotel Traunstein offers modern rooms, each with a private balcony. Within a 10-minute walk, guests can reach the centre of Altmünster and Lake Traun, which offers waterskiing, beach volleyball, miniature golf, and a large adventure trail.
Every morning we prepare a rich breakfast buffet for you with wholemeal and natural products, a selection of sausages and cheeses as well as bread and pastries from the region.
The rooms have a private bathroom with a shower and cable TV. They are all decorated in bright colours and materials.
Direct lake access is only a few minutes' walk away. The local outdoor pool in Altmünster offers a swimming pool as well as lake access and is chargeable.
Popular sights in the surrounding area include Orth Castle, which is beautifully situated in a lake and only a 20-minute walk away. You can rent e-bikes directly at our reception - we kindly ask you to book in advance. In winter, the ski bus stops directly in front of the house and takes you to the Feuerkogel skiing area in 20 minutes.

Altmünster, also known as Altmünster am Traunsee, is a market town located about 3 kilometres south of Gmunden in the Austrian state of Upper Austria, on the west shore of the Traunsee. Its economic base consists primarily of tourism, light industry, and as a bedroom community for people working in larger communities such as Gmunden and Vöcklabruck.
As you wander through the quaint streets of Altmünster, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time. The town is rich in history, with landmarks such as the 15th-century church of St. Nikolaus and the 17th-century Schloss Ort castle. Take a stroll through the town center, where you'll find traditional Austrian architecture and plenty of shops and cafes to explore.
