Sottomarina ist eine Insel am Südrand der Lagune von Venedig, die zu Chioggia gehört. Dabei bilden die Lagune, das offene Meer und der Fluss Brenta im Süden die Grenzen der etwa dreieckigen, 2,36 km² großen Insel. Im Südwesten der Insel liegt Brondolo, wo sich seit dem Frühmittelalter ein bedeutendes Kloster befand. Vor der Umleitung der Brenta vor rund einem Jahrhundert war Sottomarina eine Halbinsel, heute schließt der Fluss die nunmehrige Insel nach Süden ab.
