Cuxhaven [ˌkʊksˈhaːfn̩] ist eine Stadt an der Mündung der Elbe in die Nordsee. Es ist die Kreisstadt des gleichnamigen Landkreises in Niedersachsen und zählt entsprechend seiner Einwohnerzahl nach dem Niedersächsischen Kommunalverfassungsgesetz zu den großen selbständigen Städten.
